Alaska Cruise Day 3 at Juneau and Mt. Roberts

Date: August 5, 2014
Gear: M240 with Summicron 28 and 90, Summilux 50 and Zeiss 15 mm

After returning from Mendenhall Glacier, we walked along the main streets of Juneau which is the capital city of Alaska. People cannot access this small town directly by road; in other words, the only means of transportation is by sea or by air if you want visit Juneau.
It was a cloudy late afternoon with light shower; yet we decided to take the Mount Roberts Tramway and see how the aero view of Juneau was like. When we arrived at the top, it was rainy and we stayed only a little while and returned.

Alaska Cruise: Day 3 (2)

Alaska Cruise Day 3 at Juneau and Mendenhall Glacier

Date: August 5, 2014
Gear: M Typ 240 with Summicron 28 and 90, Summilux 50 and Zeiss 15mm

After landing Juneau, we took a bus to the Mendenhall Glacier which was about 12 miles from Downtown Juneau. Due to the rise of global temperature effect, glaciers are retreating at an increasing rate; this includes this Mendenhall Glacier.
As the day was cloudy and it was late afternoon, the photos are a bit dull.

There were many people at the foot of the waterfall.

The marks left on the bedrock surface are the scars made by rocks and
boulders during glacier movement many years ago.
